Lazy Guy Distillery is located in the heart of downtown Kennesaw, just northwest of Atlanta. Kennesaw has deep historical roots dating back to General Sherman’s March to the Sea during the Civil War. Prominent for its railroad locomotive “The General” and its key location close to the capital of Georgia, Kennesaw is the perfect place to make whiskey, a practice that has been revered throughout American history.
The two buildings which comprise our distillery operations are just around the corner from the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive. Our office and distillery buildings date back to the 1800’s and have a rich heritage themselves. These historic buildings have witnessed many changes over the decades, just as whiskey making in America has witnessed change. From the Whiskey Rebellion in the late 1700’s to the Prohibition Era in the 1920’s, Whiskey has been a cornerstone of many American events and even served as a means of currency more than once in our country’s history.
We invite you to visit the distillery on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays to enjoy our handcrafted spirit cocktails. We feature a huge selection of hand-crafted cocktails which change daily and showcase our spirits. Don’t miss our seasonal special cocktails. The bar is open Thursday from 5p-8p, Friday from 5p-9p and on Saturdays 2p-9p. We may also have special hours due to events in Downtown Kennesaw so watch our social media feeds for schedule changes. NOTE: ALL seating is outdoors. We have covered decks with circulation fans (for the warm months) as well as outdoor shaded areas. We can accommodate up to 75-80 guests on the property. There is NO indoor or air-conditioned seating – ALL seating is outdoors. During winter months the decks are enclosed and we provide heaters for your comfort.
We offer distillery tours on a limited basis. We post on Facebook/Instagram on days when we are touring the distillery floor. Private tours and facility rentals are available for groups of 10+. Capturing flavors from regionally sourced grains Lazy Guy Distillery whiskey offers a taste that is truly unique. We don’t have a huge portfolio portfolio and prefer to focus on small-batch products that best reflect our brand and the passion of those who drink Bourbon and Rye whiskey.
With your first sip from any of the following unique cocktails, We’re sure you’ll agree that Lazy Guy Distillery spirits offer a taste that is unmatched by others. NOTE: Recipes on our website are NOT available in our tasting room. The reason is that due to GA law (August 2017) we can only serve samples/cocktails in our tasting room using spirits we make onsite. The recipes on this website contain other alcohol ingredients from other manufacturers. Our tasting room menu has far more offerings than what is listed on the website.
1.5oz Lazy Guy Snow Cream
0.75oz Peppermint Schnapps
0.75 DeKuyper Creme de Cocoa
Combine all ingredients into shaker, add ice. Pour into rocks glass.
1.5oz Lazy Guy Snow Cream
0.75oz Peppermint Schnapps
0.25oz Grenadine
Combine all ingredients into shaker, add ice. Pour into martini glass.
1.5oz Lazy Guy Snow Cream
0.75oz Vanilla Vodka
0.25oz DeKuyper Blue Curacao
Combine all ingredients into shaker, add ice. Pour into martini glass.
1.0oz Lazy Guy Snow Cream
0.75oz DeKuyper Creme de Cocoa
0.75oz Grey Goose Cherry Noir Vodka
Combine all ingredients into shaker, add ice. Drizzle chocolate into martini glass in a lacing. Pour into martini glass.
1.5oz Lazy Guy Snow Cream

0.5oz Drillaud White Cocoa Liqueur
Combine all ingredients into shaker, add ice. Pour into martini glass.
1.5 oz Threesome Whiskey
0.5 oz lime juice
0.5 oz simple syrup
0.25 oz Gabriel Boudier maraschino liqueur
top Q Grapefruit Soda
Methodology: Combine all ingredients except the soda and shake well. Strain into an ice filled Collins glass and top with Grapefruit soda.
Garnish: grapefruit crescent
2oz Threesome Whiskey
0.5oz Vya Whisper Dry Vermouth
0.25oz Local Honey Syrup (1:1)
Rosemary Garnish
Methodology: Stir or shake (always ask the guest how they want their martini). Serve up in a martini glass.
Garnish: Rosemary Sprig
***Can top with Prosecco, reduce whiskey to 1.5oz
1.5 oz Threesome Whiskey
0.5 Amaro Ramazzotti
0.5 oz lemon juice
0.25 oz agave syrup (1:1)
4 dashes Berg and Hauck’s Old Time Aromatic Bitters
Methodology: Combine all ingredients except the bitters and shake well. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice, then dash bitters over the top.
Garnish: Lemon Peel
2oz Threesome Whiskey
0.5oz Cariel Vanilla Vodka
0.25oz Galliano
3 dashes Berg & Hauk Aromatic bitters
1 dash Berg & Hauk Orange bitters
- Combine all ingredients, stir and strain into rocks glass, served neat
- Charred cinnamon stick garnish
1.5oz Threesome Whiskey
0.5oz Lemon juice
0.5oz Lime juice
0.5oz simple syrup
- Combine all ingredients, shake and strain over ice in a rocks glass
- Garnish with a cherry
1.5oz Threesome Whiskey
1.0oz Drillaud Creme de Peche
0.5oz Agave Nectar
2 Lime Wedges
Combine all ingredients into shaker along with ice. Squeeze first lime wedge and add to shaker. Shake and strain into rocks glass. Garnish with second lime wedge.
1Tbsp diced fresh ginger
Simple Syrup (50/50 sugar and water)
1/3 fresh lime
1.5-2.0oz Atlanta Gin
Dice ginger into small pieces and put into metal shaker. Add a small amount of simple syrup and muddle ginger well. Add 1.0oz simple syrup. Squeeze 1/3 lime. At this point – balance tart/sweet as preferred.
Once balanced, fill shaker ½ with fresh ice and add 1.5-2.0oz Atlanta Gin. Stir well with bar spoon.
Fill rocks glass with fresh ice and strain from shaker. Twist lime zest around rim of glass and garnish with fresh thin lime wedge.
Pour 2oz Atlanta Gin over fresh ice in a rocks glass and top with high quality tonic water. Garnish with fresh lime. NOTE: An additional fresh lime zest ‘mist’ on the rim of the rocks glass adds to the depth of flavor of this cocktail.
2oz Side Track Bourbon
.5oz Sandeman Founders Reserve Port
.5oz Massenez Crème de Ginger
3 dash Berg & Hauk Creole Bitters
- Combine all ingredients, stir and strain into a coup glass
- Garnish with an expressed lemon peel
1.5oz Side Track Bourbon
.5oz Merlet Crème de Peche
Top with iced tea
- Build the cocktail in a tea glass and toss it between a mixing glass and the tea glass
- Garnish with a lemon
2 oz Side Track Bourbon
1 oz Simple Syrup
4 oz Ginger Beer
3 barspoons diced Ginger
5-7 fresh Mint Leaves
Methodology: In a mixing glass, squeeze/add lime wedges, simple syrup and diced ginger. Muddle. Add Side Track Bourbon. Shake and strain into a rocks glass, and top with Ginger Beer.
Garnish: Lime Wedge
Fresh Key West lime Sour mix:
2 parts Nellie & Joe’s Famous Key West Lime Juice
2.5 parts simple syrup (50/50)
Build the cocktail in a shaker:
2.0 oz Side Track Bourbon
1.5 oz Fresh Key West lime sour mix
Add ice / shake wall. Pour into rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with lime-wheel. NOTE: Fresh Key West Lime juice is a critical component of this cocktail. Using traditional Sweet & Sour mix will not deliver the same flavor but is a viable substitute if Nellie & Joe’s is not available.
1.5oz 5th Article 1887 Rye Whiskey
1ea sugar cube
Bitters
Orange wedge
Cherry garnish
Mixology: Soak sugar cube with bitters and squeeze orange wedge into cocktail shaker. Muddle sugar/juices until dissolved. Add 1.5oz 5th Article 1887 Rye Whiskey and ice. Shake well and pour over ice into rocks glass. Garnish with Maraschino cherry.
1.5 oz The General
1 oz Simple Syrup
8-10 Fresh Mint Leaves
2 Lime Wedges
Club Soda
Methodology: In a mixing glass, muddle lime wedges, simple syrup and mint leaves. Add The General. Shake and strain into a rocks glass. Top with club Soda.
Garnish: Mint Leaves
1.5oz The General
2.0oz Lemonade
0.5oz Agave Syrup
Dash Orange bitters
Combine all ingredients into shaker with ice / shake well and strain into rocks glass. Enjoy!

.5oz Merlet Crème de Poire
.5 Lime juice
- Combine all ingredients, shake and strain on the rocks
- Garnish with a sliced pear
